- comfortingly delicious homemade smoked-salmon sandwiches straight from my mother’s kitchen for the return train journey to Bristol
- I went to bed at ten to eight on Wednesday evening and it was amazing
- Croatian chocolate spread
- my newly-purchased eggs survived the bumpy bicycle ride home from the supermarket
- the Guardian (the only newspaper worth reading) on Saturday
- crosswords in bed
- endless cups of tea
- eating dinner with W on Royal York Crescent overlooking the city lights, feeling archetypally British with our cardboard boxes of fish and chips sitting on a damp bench in the darkness of a blustery March evening
- the so-called ‘Kulturwochenende’ of L&W which included an orchestral concert at St George’s and a JB Priestley play
- SPRING RAIN!
- the emptiness of the supermarket on a Thursday afternoon
- new recipes and a handsome supper companion
- daffodils and blossom
- bicycle rides to class with the sun shining or the rain pouring down - it doesn’t matter: my ankles are bare and my spring coat on my back and as my bicycle tumbles down streets punctuated by blossoming trees, a great sense of possibility invades. It’s wonderful! (I think I have spring fever again…)
- I still have four limbs!
